Heart Words

I know that sometimes I will want with all my heart

to take your love within my body and feel your love becoming one with my own,

And yet I will not know the right words to express that.

So I will pause and hesitate and say something that comes out stupidly, or only partway

without the depth and intensity that pulsate within me.

And I know that if I could say it,

really be that which is within me for just a moment,

You would lavish it and devour it and ripple through it until it broke you open and you poured out before me.

And I can imagine that the storms of mist that cloud your eyes sometimes

Would dissolve into the light emanating from your soul,

Backlighting those cool blue pools with the sparkling luminosity of the sun.
